First up to our list of free things to do in Metro Manila is Rizal Park or commonly known as Luneta. Named after the national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, this place is like a huge, relaxing park where you can stroll, take cool pics, and maybe even have a picnic.
Plus, you can learn about cool historical stuff at the same time. Talk about a win-win! Don’t miss the chance to visit the Rizal Monument, which symbolizes the nation’s struggle for independence.
2. Intramuros
Imagine walking through this old, walled city that’s all full of stories from a long time ago. You’ll see these cool old buildings that kinda make you feel like you’re time-traveling.
And the best part? Of course, it’s one of the FREE things to do in Metro Manila! You can explore places like Casa Manila where you get a sneak peek of the fancy houses from a long time ago. Plus, it’s so Instagrammable, you’ll be snapping pics left and right.

But don’t worry, there are plenty of wallet-friendly options to satisfy your taste buds. Binondo is a food haven, with street stalls and small eateries offering some of the most delicious and affordable treats in the city.
Our own Binondo adventure was quite a treat. We tried out street food like pig ear and chicken liver. And we couldn’t resist grabbing some hopia from Mr. Ube too!
5. Arroceros Forest Park

It’s a great place to take a relaxing nature walk and enjoy the outdoors. Covering more than two hectares, this park is often called the “last lung” of Manila, giving you a fresh breath of air away from the city rush.
6. Bonifacio High Street
Let’s head to a modern hub with a totally different vibe. Bonifacio High Street or commonly known as BGC, is like a modern playground, filled with tall buildings and endless things to do in Metro Manila.
Side story: Back when we were kids, our French classmates used to think Manila was all just a jungle. Who would’ve guessed that a place like BGC existed here? Heck, we don’t even see this many buildings back in Europe. It’s like a whole new world of cityscape!
It’s also super perfect when you’re in the mood for some artsy vibes. They’ve got these artsy building installations for the perfect photo backdrop, sometimes even concerts and fun events, plus, it’s a great spot for people-watching.
7. Metropolitan Museum of Manila
From the vibrant streets of BGC to an artistic haven, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, now known as The M, has undergone a transformation. Previously located in Roxas Boulevard, this change took place in the latter part of 2021, moving to its new home in BGC.
Here, you’ll be amazed at the world of contemporary art, showcasing both local and international talent. With a variety of exhibits to explore, it’s not only for art enthusiasts but also a fantastic idea for a budget-friendly date filled with creativity and inspiration.
Oh, and here’s a cool story: Our friends at Reelreve, John’s boutique marketing agency, covered an event here. It was for an artist named Jefrë, and his first solo art show, “Points of Origin.” They got to see how awesome this place is for creative vibes. So, it’s not just us – even the pros think it’s a nice spot to check out!
8. Modeka art
From one artistic hotspot to another, let’s head over to Modeka Art in Makati. This one shouldn’t be missed in the free things to do in Metro Manila. This gallery isn’t just your typical art stop; it’s a dynamic place for creativity. Modeka Art showcases an impressive array of artworks.
