Sundang Island

Do you really have to be in the middle of the ocean to experience island living? Well, that’s not the case in Sundang Island.

Believe it or not, this charming little island is just a three-hour drive from Manila. It sits in the middle of Lumot Lake with a seemingly endless view of the Sierra Madre ranges. And, yes, you can swim in the lake!

The tranquil location makes it perfect for couples, families, or small groups of friends who want a change in scenery and atmosphere far from the city’s frenzied pace.

Upon arriving, you’ll be greeted by a grassy knoll dotted with trees, and a cozy 80-square-meter bungalow. The house has one bedroom, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a spacious living room. There are also tents available to pitch on the grassy grounds.

Staying in Sundang Island lets you enjoy simple things such as cooking, playing card or board games, writing, painting, boating, and even sleeping! In fact, the place is also ideal for long-term stays. The place is conducive to focus on a novel, thesis, or painting you’re working on.

Brother Island

This exclusive island is just within reach of El Nido. But staying in Brother Island feels like you’re in a totally different world, away from the tourist hotspot.

This place offers a private island life that you wouldn’t get in commercialized destinations like El Nido. No crowds or hubbub, but Brother Island also has no Wifi, television, and air conditioning units. You won’t be able to post pics on social media at the moment, but there are plenty of more awesome things to do on the island.

Once you’ve booked the island, you have the entire place for yourself and you get the freedom to do what you want, when you want. The house on the island has 7 bedrooms, and can accommodate 16 guests.

Bookings include snorkeling gear and kayak rental to explore the coral reef. You can also explore the preserved jungle and bamboo forest on the island. Plus, you don’t have to worry about your meals. A private chef will be with you on the island to cook traditional Filipino cuisine three times a day.

It may not be like a five-star luxury hotel, but you’ll surely have a five-star experience in Brother Island.

NoaNoa Island

Palawan — as the Philippines’ last ecological frontier — is known for its fantastic beaches, lush jungles, and teeming marine life. It’s no wonder why a lot of people have been flocking to Palawan’s tourist destination.

But wouldn’t it be great to experience Palawan’s natural beauty in total serenity? Well, NoaNoa Island is the best destination for that!

NoaNoa Island is a hodgepodge of everything Palawan is known for. It’s a lush jungle ecosystem overlooking 70-hectares of coral reef that starts just four meters from the shore. It’s so close to the beach, that you can swim right off the shore to go snorkeling.

The main house is a beautiful tropical mansion, like a masterpiece in the middle of the forest. It has a spacious common area that opens to a huge balcony with an infinity pool and a sweeping view of the ocean and forest.

There are only two rooms in the main house: the master suite and the guest suite. Both rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and absolutely breathtaking! However, there’s also a guest house on the island.

The guest house, on the other hand, has four equally stunning rooms. You can choose from the Jasmine Room, the Capiz Suite, and the Ylang Ylang Room. The famous Honeymoon Suite is the last and most romantic room found on the guest house’s top floor.

NoaNoa Island looks like a place straight out of your dreams. And after staying here, you probably won’t stop dreaming of coming back!

Island Buenavista

Samal Island is quickly gaining popularity among local and international tourists. But at Island Buenavista, you can enjoy the sun, sand, and sea minus the crowd of other tourists.

Island Buenavista is a 4-hectare private island resort in Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS). The white-sand beach, crystal clear waters of the Davao Gulf, and beautiful coral reefs are all exclusively yours to enjoy.

They have one family villa, two island suites, six cabanas and an executive suite. Sounds like a great place to throw a private island party, right?

The overnight rate can cover 10 people, but the Island Buenavista can accommodate up to 34 guests. Meanwhile, day tours allow a maximum of 70 people on the island.

Have fun watching a fire dance show, singing with the videoke machine (definitely a Filipino fave), crab catching, snorkeling, kayaking, and scuba diving.

But with so many exciting things to do in Island Buenavista, we doubt that a day tour or just one night will let you experience island life to the fullest.

Floral Island

Yet another private island in Palawan!

You’ll find Floral Island in the heart of Talacanen island. It lies on the north-eastern side of Palawan, within Taytay Bay. Besides the white-sand beach, one of the first things you’ll notice about the island are the massive limestone karsts.

One of the villas — the honeymoon villa — is on top of a limestone cliff. It’s also the villa that offers the best view. There’s a total of six villas on the island, and they can accommodate up to 24 people.

The villas are spacious and cozy. They’re mostly covered in bamboo and rocks, which makes the villas blend well with the island’s atmosphere. All villas have a porch or balcony, so you won’t miss any minute to savor the view.

There’s a restaurant on the island, where you’ll be served three meals a day. The restaurant is the only spot that has Wifi-connection.

There are no commercial or motorized activities, or even island hopping tours. But that doesn’t mean your stay would be boring!

Bookings include snorkeling gear and kayak. Which is perfect for admiring the long stretch of protected coral reef surrounding Floral Island.

They’re even part of the coral triangle initiative. It’s an international project that promotes planting artificial coral reefs. When you stay on the island, they’ll even encourage you to be a coral hero and plant yourself some corals!

The island is clearly meant for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Staying for two nights might not even be enough!
