Ifugao

Welcome to the land of the famed Banaue Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s been dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Our trip to Banaue over a year ago was a dream come true. We’ve always wanted to meet rice farmers, and Banaue gave us the chance to meet an entire village.

Banaue left a lasting impression on us, and If there’s one thing we would always remember from this trip it’s that Tagalog saying “Kung ano ang itinanim, ay siya ring aanihin” or “You reap what you sow” in English. BUT, it’s not just the Banaue rice terraces that you can see in Ifugao.  If you’re looking for a remarkable adventure surrounded by nature and culture, Ifugao is the place to be.

Must-visit places (aside from Banaue Rice Terraces): 

  • Tappiya Falls: Take a refreshing swim in the clear waters while surrounded by beautiful greenery.

This might be one of the most undiscovered places in the Philippines. Even some Filipinos might not even know where Abra is. It may be off the beaten path, but its charm and beauty are second to none.
