During our last trip to Dumaguete with the Air Asia team, we visited Atmosphere resorts & spa. And honestly, we fell in love with this splendid resort thanks to the beauty of the place and its super attentive team. So let us tell you a little more about the place.

Where is the hotel located? (Location)
Atmosphere Resort & Spa is located in Dumaguete City, capital of Negros Oriental and dubbed as “the City of Gentle People”.
The city’s name came from the Visayan word “dagit,” which means “to snatch.” That’s because pirates used to frequent the place during pre-Spanish colonization.
Even though that was centuries ago, the city continues to live up to its name. Dumaguete City has that kind of charm that will snatch the heart of anyone who comes to visit!
This place is for nature lovers, beach enthusiasts, and even history buffs. Dumaguete is home to rich marine habitat, amazing waterfalls, and cultural sites that take you to the past.

Atmosphere offers several dining options whether you want seafood barbeque, delicious pizza, fine dining, or quick and simple eats. And since they place so much value in health and wellness, you can expect vegan and vegetarian dishes in their menu.
Enjoy stunning views and good food
Jumpstart a fun-filled day at Breeze. This all-day dining restaurant has a great view of the pools, beach, and ocean, and an extensive menu of great food.
Ocean, on the other hand, is a fine dining restaurant that overlooks Apo and Siquijor Islands. Aside from your eyes, your taste buds will definitely be dazzled too!
The restaurant combines Filipino favorites and classic international cuisine to create oh-so amazing dishes. We’re sure you want to try this place too, but you’ll have to make reservations in advance.
Chill out at the bars
The Pool Bar is the main bar located at the main pool deck. It’s a great place to enjoy a cocktail by the pool, and maybe even meet new friends.
The Beach Bar is exactly, where its name suggests – at the beach! We loved hanging out at this place because our toes were in the sand while chilling at the bar.

Diving in Dauin

For beginners, the thought of getting up close and personal with marine life could be scary at first. But fortunately, you’re in good hands in Atmosphere.
The resort has a PADI-certified dive center. They offer scuba diving courses for beginners, intermediate divers, and those who intend to be diving instructors themselves. Even kids as young as 8 years old can take diving lessons!
Besides Dauin coast, you can also ask Atmosphere to make arrangements for a trip to Apo Island. It’s a small fishing community that has lush coral reefs and colorful reef fish. You could swim among the turtles, clownfish, seahorses, and moray eels!
Siquijor Island is another place you can go to. It’s an intriguing island known for folk healing traditions, waterfalls, caves, and white beaches.
Their dive boat is large and very well-equipped. They had towels, fruits, refreshments – everything was there to have a good time.
The instructors are very competent and know the area inside out. Thanks to them, we were able to see a lot of turtles and the exceptional underwater world.
An award-winning spa redefining wellness
Health and wellness are the focal points of Atmosphere. That’s why their spa and wellness programs treat guests to a refreshing experience that recharges the body and mind.
The Sanctuary Spa bagged prestigious awards at the worldwide Luxury Spa Awards in 2017 and 2018. They won the global award for Best Luxury Garden Spa, as well as the regional award for Best Luxury Spa Retreat in the Philippines.
So treat yourself to a full-body massage, wrap, scrub, facial, and or other body treatments when you’re here! They also have healing baths as well, and even spa treatments specifically designed for children aged 8-12.
Atmosphere’s approach to health and well-being is rooted in yoga. They have two in-house instructors that hold yoga classes twice daily, from beginners to intermediate and advanced level.

Explore Negros Oriental
We suggest taking Atmosphere’s Dumaguete City Tour so you can immerse with the locals and get to know their culture more.
You’ll get to stroll around and enjoy the afternoon breeze at Rizal Boulevard. This is a place where Jose Rizal, the Philippines’ national hero, used to spend his time whenever he was in the city.
The tour also takes you to Campanario de Dumaguete, the old bell tower, as well as St. Catherine Alexandria Cathedral, the oldest stone church in Negros.
But there’s still a lot of sights to see beyond Dumaguete City. That’s why Atmosphere also offers the Valencia Tour that takes you to a small mountain town about 30 minutes from the resort.
There, you’ll see a fruit farm that grows a variety of tropical fruits, a local home that has a collection of WW2 memorabilia, and a picnic site with eight man-made swimming pools.
If you are a nature lover, you can’t miss Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park at Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
It’s one of the few rainforests in the Philippines with exceptional biodiversity. There, you will see different endemic species, such as the Visayan leopard cat or the giant golden crowned flying fox.
Since you’re already in Valencia, we suggest you take a side trip to the hot springs and Pulang Bato waterfalls.
