Why should you stay in Grand Hyatt? | Overview

If you want to have a taste of the glitzy lifestyle at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC), then you have to book your stay at the Grand Hyatt Manila. This five-star luxury hotel opened in January 2018. Plus, it is currently the tallest hotel in the Philippines!

We are often recognizing it from the plane when we land at NAIA Airport as we fly over BGC.

And they really took advantage of it by elevating hospitality and giving the guests a different level of experience. Despite being fairly young in the local hospitality scene, Grand Hyatt Manila has redefined luxury. They gave everything that younger travelers want, and deviated from what most hotels offered their guests.

Where is the hotel located? | Location

Grand Hyatt is located in the northern part of BGC. This area is often referred to as uptown. BGC is a sprawling urban destination. It’s home to unique lifestyle and retail concepts, as well as some of the country’s top corporations.

The city supports artistic and cultural expression. That’s why a lot of millennials and the gen z are drawn to BGC. You’ll notice a lot of street art and art installations throughout the city.

Besides that, BGC also has very neat roads and sidewalks, as well as a lot of vibrant open spaces and parks.

What about the rooms | Accommodation

The rooms at Grand Hyatt are different from most hotels we’ve stayed in. The first thing we noticed is that our room was very spacious compared to most hotels. Also, the huge window and the way the beds and furniture were arranged made it even more airy.

The second distinct feature in the room was the use of wood. While most hotels had carpeted floors, Grand Hyatt covered the room’s floor and walls with wood. It wasn’t innovative per se, but we think it has set Grand Hyatt apart from most hotels in the metro.

The wooden walls and floor gave our room a homey vibe without looking old-fashioned or shabby. Entering the room felt like coming home!

The third thing that was unique to Grand Hyatt’s rooms is the walk-in closet. It had a bench for our luggage. Plus, enough space to keep our clothes organized as well as, of course, walk inside the closet.

We think these three things are what the younger generation of travelers are looking for in a hotel. Because of that, Grand Hyatt Manila has raised the bar in the new generation of luxury hotels.

What to eat or drink? | F&B

You’ll see The Lounge once you enter the hotel lobby. It’s a multi-level dining area that offers meals, light snacks, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It’s a nice place to socialize with friends or have casual business meetings. But we recommend staying there at around 2:30PM. That’s when they serve afternoon tea and pastries.

For more appetizing pastries, sandwiches, and desserts, head over to Florentine. Their specialty is, of course, their signature Florentine biscuit that they make in various flavors. Grand Hyatt’s flagship restaurant is the Grand Kitchen. It’s an all-day dining restaurant that serves local and international cuisines. This is where guests have their breakfast.

What we loved about this restaurant is their pan-to-plate concept. All the dishes were always cooked fresh and served right from the pan. So the food isn’t dry, even at the buffet.

Take a trip to China at this restaurant

There’s also a Chinese restaurant called No. 8 China House. The culinary team is composed of chefs from Mainland China. So, you’re guaranteed that their dishes are as authentic as they get!

It was an amazing experience because aside from how amazing the food taste, we also got to watch the chefs cook the food.

Have dinner with a stunning view of the sunset

Grand Hyatt also has an outdoor restaurant. It’s called Pool House, and it’s located at the pool deck. The menu includes international cuisine as well, but they specialize in barbecue and grilled meat. One of their must-try dishes is the Nasi Goreng.

We recommend going to Pool House a little past 5:00 PM so you can catch the sunset. It’s so fun watching the sky turn to gold, pink, and purple as you sip great cocktails and enjoy the cool evening breeze.

A restaurant that takes you to the peak of life

But if you want to experience life at BGC on another level (literally), then head to the 60th floor to get to The Peak. It has a grill restaurant, whiskey bar, and music lounge. And since The Peak is at the topmost floors of the hotel, you get a spectacular 360 degree view of Manila.

This place made us feel like we were on top of the world! So, we really encourage you to spend some time at The Peak when you’re at Grand Hyatt.

However, we recommend you have a table reserved in advance. The place can get really packed, especially during the weekends. Although you can just walk in, tables can’t be guaranteed.

A wine cellar that serves craft beer and great cocktails

The Cellar is the hotel bar that serves wine, handcrafted beer, and specialized cocktails. They also offer small plates and international tapas to go with the drinks.

The food menu is limited, which isn’t much of a problem since there are different restaurants in the hotel. But we think that the menu was carefully crafted so every dish goes well with the drinks.

The drinks were great, plus the ambiance was amazing. The interiors were sleek and ritzy, so it’s a great place to sip in style.

What to do? A Unique Experience | Facilities & Service

Grand Hyatt has the facilities that you’d typically see in most hotels: a gym, spa, and swimming pool. The fitness center was open 24/7. While the spa has a jacuzzi, steam room, and dry sauna that are free to use for all hotel guests (so, take advantage of these facilities!).

If we’re to talk about unique experiences within the hotel, we think there’s nothing much to do at Grand Hyatt. Especially if you’re not really fond of swimming or spa treatments. Since you’re already at BGC, we recommend you take the opportunity to roam the city instead of spending your entire stay just inside the hotel.

The nearest shopping center is Uptown Mall, which is just on the next street from Grand Hyatt. Next would be the Bonifacio High Street Strip, which is 11 minutes away by foot.

Just walking around the city is already an experience in itself. So we suggest you head out and see where your feet take you!

Quarantine at Grand Hyatt

If you need a place for your quarantine, then consider staying at Grand Hyatt. They have a Wellbeing Stays package for travelers that require accommodations for quarantine.

The offer includes three meals every day, as well as one-way transportation from the airport to the hotel. Rooms available for the Wellbeing Stays are the Grand King, Grand Double and Grand Suite.
