Why should you stay in the Manila Marriott Hotel? (Overview)

If you want to experience citylife at its best, then it’s worth staying at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay city.

The hotel is sandwiched between Makati and Bonifacio Global City (BGC), two of the country’s busiest business districts. Staying in Marriott also means experiencing the exciting lifestyle of the most dynamic cities in the Philippines.

Besides that, what’s very important is that Marriott is close to the airport. So it’s a hotel that suits both business and leisure travelers.

We had lots of corporate events there as well like the Philippine Hospital Summit.

Where is the hotel located? (Location)

The Manila Marriott Hotel is part of Resorts World Manila Complex.

It’s a development that has some of the most luxurious casinos, restaurants, and bars. The Newport Performing Arts Theater and the Newport Mall are also here.

Marriott may just be right across the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, but we didn’t hear the planes or the vehicles passing by. So it was like we were in a totally different world.

And since the hotel is conveniently located across the airport, we think this is the best place to stay if you’re traveling for business and want to get to the airport real quick.

What about the rooms (Accommodation)

Our room and the bathroom were spacious. Plus, the interiors made use of light colors. Which made the room appear bigger than it actually was.

The room also had a homey and welcome vibe because of the touches of wood here and there. Out of all the hotels we’ve been to, Marriott is one of the very few hotels who has a homey and cozy feel.

But our favorite part of the room was the view. The Villamor Golf Course was just outside our window. So we got to admire the lush greenery, which is a very relaxing sight to see.

What to eat or drink? (F&B)

The Marriott Cafe is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. They serve local dishes and international cuisine.

We liked the Live Station, where they serve a la minute dishes (so you’re sure your food is freshly cooked). Their Singaporean Chili Crabs is one of their best dishes here.

The best part of the buffet was the fresh and high-quality seafood selection such as prawns, mussels, and curacha.

As for meat, their Australian beef rump and slow-roasted pork leg were amazing! They were juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right.

We’ve been to different hotels and tried different buffets in the Philippines. And although Marriott’s food selection was limited compared to others, all of their dishes were amazing.

This steakhouse serves the most superb steaks

The CRU Steakhouse is this really fancy restaurant that offers hand-cut steaks, salads, and desserts. They have US Certified Angus Beef, Cape Grim Grass-Fed Beef, and Mulwarra Wagyu.

But besides beef, the menu also includes lambrack, salmon, prawns, and tuna. And, of course, an extensive selection of the finest wines, cocktails, and other alcoholic beverages that go well with their steaks.

We had a fun experience eating at CRU because there was an open steak flame grill. So we were able to watch our steaks from preparation to plating.

The steaks were really juicy and cooked to perfection. They go well with Cru’s signature Truffle Mustard. So don’t forget to request that when you’re there!

We also found out that a lot of people go to CRU to celebrate significant occasions like birthdays and anniversaries — and we understand why.

Everything is amazing in this place. The food, service, and especially the ambiance. If you’re thinking of treating your significant other, we recommend taking them to CRU.

Have a taste of Asia in two restaurants

Man Ho showcases traditional Cantonese dishes. One of their must-try dishes is the Roasted Flambéed Peking Duck. It’s doused in Dalmore whiskey and served with Chinese pancakes.

The chef is very strict with the quality of ingredients. If the ingredients don’t meet the standards, then, the dish might not be available. So, we suggest you ask the waiter as well which dishes are available for the day.

Mian, on the other hand, serves Chinese cuisine as well. But aside from that, their menu also includes Japanese and Filipino food.

What’s interesting about Mian’s concept is that they serve “gourmet fast food.” So it’s like fine dining without breaking the bank.

The menu is limited but well-thought out. There are only a few appetizers, soups, rice bowls, and noodle dishes to choose from.

But quality over quantity, right? And Mian did not disappoint. Their best dishes are the Braised Pork Belly, Kare-Kare, and Mango Strawberry Iced Tea.

Marriott proves that it’s also a great place to hang out and socialize

If you need your caffeine fix, then better head to Crema. It’s a cozy place for casual meet-ups, and even just for some “me” time. We recommend the Pistachio Sans Rival or the Flourless Chocolate Feuilletine for satisfying a sweet tooth.

What we liked about this place is the Yogurt Station. You can customize your own cup of yogurt with the variety of flavors, syrups, toppings, and candies they have.

But if you’re interested in exquisite teas, whiskies, and cocktails, then the Still bar lounge would be the right spot for you. Meanwhile, the Greatroom is a great place to have a hearty, savory snack with friends.

What to do? A Unique Experience (Facilities & Service)

Marriott has their own spa, swimming pool, and gym. But since the hotel is within the Resorts World Manila complex, there’s already a lot of things to do outside the hotel.

The huge casino is the main attraction of Resorts World Manila. But aside from that, the place also has a cinema, mall, playground, and even a ‘barcade’ with billiards, bowling, and karaoke.

The Bar 360 and El Calle Food and Music Hall are also worth visiting if you’re interested in the music scene. Local talents and bands come here often to perform.

Meanwhile beyond Resorts World Manila, other great places to visit are the Manila Ocean Park, Villamor Golf Club, Mystery Manila, and the Mind Museum.

But we recommend taking a trip to Tagaytay or Corregidor Island if you have the time and energy to get to know the Philippine culture and history.

Overall, we think Marriott is great for those who like to do new experiences and different things as a way to relax and escape the ordinary.
