Hey guys! You might have seen us on social media through our videos đ Or maybe, you donât know us at all. In both cases, welcome to our blog!
In a nutshell, we are two French friends who decided to experience life in the Philippines. Today, we are living in Manila, its capital. Therefore, 2frenchinmanila! Click here to know more about us.
STARTING THE ADVENTURE
On Facebook & Instagram, we started posting our travel pictures in the Philippines and funny videos that might have entertained you in some way, thatâs why youâre still with us today. You can easily find us on the web if you search for 2frenchinmanila.
We aspire to bridge both cultures because we love both countries: FRANCE & THE PHILIPPINES.
Creating content is what excites us. So more than just videos, we wanted to express ourselves through writing. A lot of Filipinos are eager to learn about French culture and some tips on how they can make the most out of their holiday in France. As well as lots of our friends in France are asking us for some tips about living or traveling in the Philippines.
That is where we can help.
LIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES
The official tourism slogan is âItâs more fun in the Philippines!â. Which is one of the reasons why we stay here â there are always some unexpected adventures, activities and fun going on that we just canât miss out!
Some of you are already watching our Instagram stories and can attest to that. đ
Every time we travel in the Philippines. We meet the friendliest and the most hospitable people ever! Plus, the captivating views that are simply beautiful! If you are not from here, you certainly heard about the amazing island of Palawan or even Siargao.
For sure, in the capital, Manila, life is not really the same â mostly a busy Asian city with everything that is fast-paced, with hours worth of traffic just to get by around the city, and tall buildings (especially Makati and BGC, which are the business districts).
Which is why escaping the city over the weekend to unwind on nearby beaches, hike on the nearby mountains, or just hang by a restaurant with a beautiful view is what most people do.
COMING FROM FRANCE
We usually fly back to France as both of our families live there. As a result, we often get questions from Filipinos asking for tips when they visit France.
Several Filipinos would like to know destinations both popular, and underrated that they can go to in Paris, which hotel to stay in, how to get a visa, etc. Paris still remains one of the most visited cities in the world. Little did people know, more than its capital, France is one of the best places to visit in Europe, and is in every travelerâs bucket list.
Every part of France has a different landscape, which makes this country really unique. You can enjoy the sun, admire the Mediterranean Sea on the French Riviera, enjoy the French countryside, visit small villages that looks like it jumped out of a fairytale book in Provence, go on a ski holiday in the French Alps Mountains, or experience the coastal breeze from the Atlantic Ocean on the west coast.
If youâre going to ask us, we think weâre lucky. From living in a beautiful country and now, experiencing life in an awesome one.
BRIDGING CULTURES
2frenchinmanila is literally a combination of those two countries. By being present in social media, we pursue our passion while connecting the two countries. We learned that both countries are very different and alike to each other. French people think differently. Filipinos have another vision. But both cultures understand the value of good company, and good food.
Which is why, spreading awareness and knowledge about those two cultures will help us become more open minded towards the world.
Let us finish by adapting a quote of a famous travel writer, Rick Steves:
âWe travel around the world in a way that tries to open our mind, give us empathy, inspire us to come home and make this world a better placeâ.
